OHPEN APPOINTS XANDRA NIEHE AS CHIEF PEOPLE & CULTURE OFFICER
Amsterdam, June 1st, 2021
Ohpen is pleased to announce that Xandra Niehe is joining the Executive Team as Chief People & Culture Officer.
As we keep innovating, we keep growing. Xandra will use her 20+ years of experience in HR to oversee all People & Culture related matters, including managing the successful integration of Ohpen and Davinci, following Davinci’s acquisition late last year. Next to this, she will oversee a number of other People & Culture related topics such as talent acquisition and development, employee engagement and wellbeing, performance management and employer branding.
Ohpen’s strong company culture
Xandra’s ambition is to, together with the HR team, create an environment where each Ohpeneer can keep developing themselves, create a positive impact for our clients and have fun while doing so. To become and remain one of the preferred employers for (fin)tech talent is one of Ohpen’s People missions.
Excited for her new challenge, Xandra explains: “Ohpen’s core belief in innovating and serving its clients whilst keeping the wellbeing of its people at heart, makes a good foundation for a strong company culture. Ohpen has a talented team and is entering an exciting new phase of international growth, and I am looking forward to being a partner to the business by helping the company grow and developing our people to their utmost potential. "
“Since Ohpen’s inception, our core values have been a driving force in our growth and have remained in all operations since,” said Matthijs Aler, CEO of Ohpen. “While our core values may evolve as we become a combined entity, our people will remain at the heart of our organisation. We understand that, while we build innovative tech solutions, those solutions are built by people, for people–whether that’s our clients or their customers.”
A proven track record
Xandra brings experience across all facets of Human Resources strategy and development on a global scale. She has a strong track-record, most recently she held the position of Head of People & Culture at Aberkyn (part of McKinsey & Company) and worked as a people consultant with global business builder, Innoleaps. In her previous jobs, she worked on the post-merger integration of companies across multiple sites and helped grow the companies she worked for in number of people and offices globally.
“I was first drawn to Ohpen because of its reputation for innovation and alignment to my areas of expertise. Over the years, I’ve learnt that people management in growing, recently combined companies is a lot like ensuring a marriage is successful. I’ve worked with multiple companies that have merged, acquired or been acquired, and when two companies join, my job is to ensure that union is successful. A key to this is co-creating shared values, purpose and mission, and ensuring those are realised across the organisation”, said Xandra about her appointment.
Matthijs Aler, CEO of Ohpen, is also looking forward to Xandra joining Ohpen’s mission: “Now is a pivotal time for Ohpen, following the acquisition of Davinci last year and our growth in the coming year, and it’s crucial that we are creating a culture that helps to facilitate this growth whilst keeping our combined core values in place. Xandra’s experience in managing successful integrations of companies, plus her focus on company growth, personal development, innovation, performance, but above all, well-being, makes her the perfect person to achieve this.”
